New portfolio website

After several years of maintaining a portfolio site built with Next.js Next.js, I've moved to using Zensical Python as the web framework instead.

Why?

This transition is primarily due to issues outside of my control. It's a hassle to maintain a complex Next.js web app where I can't seem to update to the latest version of Next.js and other dependencies due to upstream security issues that have not been resolved yet. For better security, I decided to switch to a framework dedicated towards technical writing that also generates a static site to not worry about as many security issues. There's also another reason I'd prefer not to use Next.js in general and would rather use something like TanStack or some other JavaScript web framework.

Using Zensical can also be helpful for getting used to writing documentation sites which can translate to other projects I work on that need technical documentation.

Though the portfolio site is now much simpler than before, it's okay since the expectation is that not many people will visit this site regardless. So it should be easier to maintain and write blog posts when relevant. I'll also probably need to add older blog posts I've had on the previous portfolio site over time so that anywhere online I've linked those posts from are not broken. Plus I'll need a place on this portfolio site to list the extra details about my professional experience somewhere, as currently they're mainly summaries.

I've spent much time on the previous portfolio site, and I think it's a good time to sunset it.
